The SOCIB Metocean Data Repository stores, preserves, and makes available to users the data collected by the ICTS's observation and prediction facilities. Additionally, it hosts data collected within the framework of its own scientific projects and in collaboration with other institutions.
In particular, data management practices are based on the guidelines of the ICTS SOCIB Data Policy. The reliability of the SOCIB Data Repository is guaranteed by the CoreTrustSeal awarded in 2022.
Commitment to the FAIR Principles
The ICTS SOCIB is committed to implementing the FAIR Principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Below are the features available under each of the principles:

Findable
SDOIs are assigned to data products that have been scientifically validated for quality. Data products can be found using the SOCIB Data Catalog application, which provides a series of filters based on their metadata. Additionally, the Digital.CSIC repository includes a metadata record for each SOCIB data product with an assigned DOI.

Accesibles
Data sets are accessible via the HTTPS protocol through various access interfaces (i.e., Data Catalog, Thredds and API). These also allow for the authentication and authorization of users when necessary. Additionally, under the CoreTrustSeal certification, there is a Preservation Plan to ensure that metadata is permanently accessible.

Interoperable
Data sets are distributed in the standard NetCDF format (Network Common Data Format). Metadata are expressed according to CF (Climate and Forecast Conventions), INSPIRE, DataCite, and Schema.org conventions (in JSON-LD format). Moreover, machine-to-machine interoperability is achieved through standard access services OPeNDAP, WMS, and REST (Data API).

Reusable
Generally, the CC-BY 4.0 license is used. The provenance and generation of data sets are described through their metadata. Extensive contextual information is provided through metadata used by the scientific community (OceanSites, IMOS, and Copernicus Marine Service).
Access the SOCIB Metocean Data Repository
Access to the outstanding SOCIB Metocean Data Repository facility can be done through the SOCIB Data Catalog, Data API, or THREDDS Data Server, after registration.
